Preserved through literature, arts, and ethical traditions, they cultivated altruism, patriotism, and spiritual strength. Over centuries, Pahlavans served not only as athletes but also poets, mystics, rulers, and defenders of the people. Historical studies reveal that for Iranians, sports were never merely physical exercises but sacred duties tied to defending values, shaping identity, and fostering a resilient, virtuous society.
